Just a few moment ago, Germany won FIFA Confederations Cup and European under 21 titles in one weekend.
The German machine is dominant and efficient as always. Now statement of this type is not new. Every single time football players from Germany meet other footballers from other countries.
The efficiency of the team is insane, there is no wasted energy; the team is cohesive, they play as a single impenetrable unit and of course, they just always win. Opponents know the golden rule – “you don’t want to go into extra time with these guys, they just don’t get worn-out.”
The remarkable thing about this team is that – they are the C Team of the German national team, beating the super experienced Chilean national team. The C team of Germany beats the A+ team of Chile.
Sometimes, one cannot just deny the fact that German footballers are the real life example of Spartans. Important to note is, this team don’t have a single star player like Achilles who will single-handedly move mountains. But they are composed of warriors, lions. Every single player is superbly good, strikers strike efficiently, defenders defend intensely and middle fielders coordinate effortlessly.
I was not surprised when folks took to social media to scream again – these guys are robots, programmed for efficiency. They seem to always run relentlessly, they know the loop-hole of their opponents, they play lean, they are simply too efficient.
What Efficiency is Not
And thus, what is efficiency I am crazy about – its simply
e. – signifies a level of performance. It describes a process that uses the lowest amount of inputs to create the greatest amount of outputs. Efficiency relates to the use of all inputs in producing any given output, including personal time and energy.
If you still don’t get it –
e. is the (often measurable) ability to avoid wasting materials, energy, efforts, money, and time in doing something or in producing the desired result. In a more general sense, it is the ability to do things well, successfully, and without waste.
Did you get it, perhaps this will suffice
e. the state or quality of being wasteless or stateless, or able to accomplish something with the least waste of time and effort; competency in performance.
Efficiency is beautiful, right?! Yes is it. Not only when we see it in football players from Germany. But also when we see it as a quality/attitude in friends, family, co-workers or maybe even in enemies. May your enemies not be efficient, if they are – my friend, you are simply in big trouble: God alone is your saviour.
Enough said, how do you become efficient – it is simple, seek and ye will find!
Just seek it and hopefully, if your hunger is strong enough, you will find it!
Ok, above was me trying to gauge your hunger level for efficiency – so read part 2 for how you can start your efficiency journey.
